How long are analysis results stored?

HTPBE? keeps the analysis result of every check so you can open it again later. The privacy policy sets the retention period at up to 3 years from the date of analysis. The result is a small record of findings, not a copy of your document. Whether the uploaded file itself is kept is a separate question that depends on how you submitted it.

What is stored for every check

For each check we store the analysis result and the technical metadata extracted from the PDF:

• the verdict (Intact, Modified or Inconclusive) and the detection findings behind it
• filename, file size, creation and modification dates
• creator and producer information, PDF version and page count

The record is tied to a unique check ID. That ID is what you use to open the result again later. Analysis is strictly structural: the text and images inside your document are never read, so they are not part of this record.

The result record versus the uploaded file

These are two separate things with different rules:

• Result record – kept for every check, web or API, for the retention period described above.
• Uploaded file – a file uploaded through the free web tool may be retained after analysis, without linkage to your account, to test and improve the detection algorithm. A file submitted through the API is fetched, analyzed once and discarded; it is never stored.

How to get a result back later

• Result page. Every check has a page at htpbe.tech/result/{id}. Results are private by default: the page opens for third parties only after the owner turns on a public link for that check from the dashboard. While the link is on, anyone who holds it can see the verdict and document metadata, including the filename. Turning it off revokes access straight away. See how to share analysis results.
• Dashboard. When you are signed in, your checks are listed in the dashboard, and each one opens as a private result view at /dashboard/result/{id}.
• API. GET /api/v1/result/{id} returns the stored result for a check ID, and GET /api/v1/checks returns a paginated list of your checks (1 to 500 per page), filterable by verdict, tool, creator and date range. Both require your API key and return only checks that belong to your account; a check owned by someone else returns 404. How deletion works

To have your analysis results deleted before the retention period ends, write to [email protected]. Requests are processed within 30 days, subject to legal obligations to keep certain data. If a web-uploaded file was retained for algorithm improvement, we will delete any retained copy of your upload on request, although copies already incorporated into evaluation sets used to improve the algorithm may no longer be individually retrievable. For API submissions there is no file to delete, only the analysis results.

Other data and its retention

Results are only one part of what the privacy policy covers. Account data (name and email) is kept for the life of the account and deleted within 90 days of closure, and billing records are kept for 6 years as Finnish accounting law requires. The privacy policy has the complete list.

If you need a document or its result for an audit or a dispute, keep your own copy of the original PDF and of the result: HTPBE? does not give the original file back from the result page.
