How can I share PDF analysis results with others?
A result is private until its owner makes it public. Once a check is switched to Public in the dashboard, anyone with the link can view the result – no account needed. Switch it back to Private and the link stops showing it.
How to share a result
- Sign in and open your checks in the dashboard.
- Find the check and switch it from Private to Public.
- Copy the result link, in the form
htpbe.tech/result/[id], or use the share buttons (copy link, Twitter, LinkedIn, email).
What the recipient sees
The result page: the verdict, the metadata and the findings behind it. The page never shows the original PDF, and the file cannot be downloaded from it. A shared link cannot be used to reach the document itself.
Who can open a link
- If the check is Public, anyone who has the link. The link cannot be guessed, but whoever receives it can pass it on.
- If the check is Private, nobody can use the public link. The owner reads their own results in the dashboard.
Treat a public link the way you would treat any link to a document you do not want forwarded. If you stop sharing, switch the check back to Private.
Sharing API results
API results are returned to the key that created them. Another account cannot retrieve a result by its id, and a test key can only resolve the synthetic test results.
Good to know
- A public link has no expiry date: it keeps working until you make the check private.
- If the detection software has been updated since the check, the result says so.

Reading Your Results
Legitimate actions change a file too: re-saving, signing, filling in forms, annotating. Modified means the file has a history beyond its first creation, not necessarily fraud. Check the findings.
Not by itself. HTPBE? reports that a file was changed after creation and names each finding, but it does not label a change as harmless. A re-save, a compression pass and a content edit are all changes to the file; the named findings show what kind of change was seen.
Privacy, Data & Limits
It depends on how you submit it. Web uploads may be retained and used in anonymised form to improve detection; files sent through the API are not stored. The analysis results are kept in both cases.
